Individuals shared, initiatives were connected, ideas were created and a new community of like-minded individuals with shared goals to drive real, positive change was formed.
This month, we hosted the first Circular Economy Meet-Up for the Perth community at our new warehouse in partnership with Sharka Hornakova from Donut Waste.
The event provided the opportunity for local initiatives to bring their projects to the table in discussion with potential partners, with the goal of creating real connections that bring new ideas to fruition.
Members of local councils attended, providing the opportunity for ideas to be pitched in real-time to more effectively make progress towards the shared goals in the room. Equally, these council members shared where their sustainability teams are currently focussing and opportunities they currently have on offer for their local communities.
The warehouse was buzzing with discussions and ideas, prototype demonstrations and event planning. We can’t wait to see the progress these initiatives make and the outcomes that evolve from both new and reignited connections.
“We created this event as a space for circular economy enthusiasts to gather, feel inspired, and co-create with their tribe. Ultimately, it’s about fostering real human connections that lead to real circular action.” Sharka Hornakova, Donut Waste
We will be hosting these meet-ups monthly, in different locations where possible to showcase the work of other local initiatives in real-time.
Thank you to our sponsors, Edible Cutlery and GO2CUP for providing your support and showcasing your innovative circular businesses.
